Area Manager - Retail Operations
Lesotho - Maseru or Maputsoe
Type of Business:
R 12 000 – R 15 000 plus 5% provident fund
· Lesotho Nationals only!
· Valid driver’s license for more than two years
· Diploma/Degree or 3 year business related qualification
· 3 Years as branch manager in a large branch
· 3 Years managing staff-preferred
· 3 Years sales management-preferred
· 3 Years cash management-preferred
To manage the Region to achieve business objectives in accordance with the Retail Operations and Business Strategy. Responsible to drive regional sales through sound leadership, organizational plans and executing field operations strategies across all branches within the region
Develop and implement branch and area plans to achieve annual budgets and targeted growth. Continuously review branch locations with a view to relocation options that ensure improved returns and growth. Monthly communication of sales targets to Branches. Drive monthly sales targets to ensure targets achieved. Resource management to cater for growth of branches.
Conduct continuous comparisons with competitor in the area and region, looking at factors such as headcount, different product offerings, which factors give competitors an advantage over the company, and make recommendations to attract customers from competitors. Strive to be viewed as the market leader in the area and put initiatives in place to ensure that the company remains the leading competitor.
Branch Administration and Cost Management:
Branch and area budget and cost management and implementation of necessary controls when required. Expenditure approvals within delegation. Management of all daily, weekly and monthly reporting of BM.Timeous reporting of all prescribed reports to RM and OPS Business Partner. Ensure management of cash floats and pay outs. Manage safety and security of all branches in area
Regular branch visits to ensure operational and physical branch efficiencies being maintained
Daily scrutiny of newsflashes to ensure timeous remedial action
Ensure superior customer service and customer experience. Pro-actively address customer complaints and ensure customer feedback is positive. Build strong relationships with regular customers/punters. Regular trend analysis of big punters on all bet types and liaise with BSC where required. Create a customer centric culture within the branch and drive the philosophy of “service with a smile” at all times.
Ensure compliance with company, legislative and legal requirements. More specifically, ensure compliance with Gambling Board requirements. Compliance and adherence to company's internal control policy, Compliance to the Code of Ethics and escalate fraudulent activities. Oversee Audit queries are managed and timeous reporting is achieved.
Create an environment for clear and effective two way communication within the region. Manage the marketing function within area. Ensure planned and timely rollout of all new products into branches. Understanding and use of social media channels critical. Continuous evaluation of business process and procedures and recommendations for improvements to be implemented. Co-ordinate and implementation of CSI projects and initiative
Manage HR policies in the region in terms of leave management, performance management, labour relations (disciplinary actions/poor performance), retention and recognition. Manage the poor performance process with direct reports and the region as a whole. Ensure all branch staff have received pre-requisite training before they start working. Manage succession planning for all regional roles and identify and implement training requirements to achieve this goal. Staff Motivation including rewards and recognition.
