Remuneration:

 

  • Salary – US$ 6500 to US$10,000 per month x 12 (Salary depends on qualification, experience and skills set on offer.)

Requirements:

 

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. Agriculture with Finance/Accounting ,  or B.Sc. / B. Com combination

Experience:

  • Large scale farming / grain production projects

  • International procurement.

  • Minimum 7 years related experience.

Language Ability:

  • Must be good communicator and be fluent in English

  • Arabic will be added advantage.

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office is requested.

Work Environment:

  • Office and outside in the field

  • Hot and dusty outside in the field

  • Fair amount of travelling by road (to and from the field)

  • Strong leadership and managerial abilities

  • Ability to set strategic direction and to maintain course

  • Strong business acumen

  • Sensitive to cultural diversity

  • Excellent people skills and able to motivate people to achieve

  • Multi-tasking

  • Must have Grain Experience.

 KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

1)           Grain Production:

  • Preparation of allocated land

  • Installation of 100 pivots (+/- 5000 hectares) for irrigation

  • Planting grain

  • Crop harvesting

  • Storage and distribution of harvest

  • Provide strategic direction in optimal land utilization.

  • Provide technical advice and input to optimize the feasibility of the project.

 2)            Financial:

  • Coordinate and direct financial activities.

  • Establish lines of credit (client accreditation with suppliers)

  • Report to BOD and associates of company.

  • Financial control (monthly expenses vs budget, etc.)

  • Procurement and negotiation of capital items

  • Foreign currency exchange and structuring.

 3)            HR & Administration

  • Attend Board Meetings.

  • Communicate and liaise with ministries (Labor, Investment, Agriculture, Seed administration, Land surveying, etc.)

  • Project status reporting.

  • Manpower planning and budgeting

  • Legal aspects and requirements of project.

  • Importation of equipment, custom clearance, registration and certification of exemptions.

  • Management link between the holding company and the project.

  • Negotiate and manage the contractual obligation of supplies (e.g. drilling, capital purchasing, fuel, ..etc.).

B.           Education/Experience:

A Relevant 4-year Bachelor’s degree from a college or university

Minimum of 8 years related experience

C.           Language Ability:

  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

D.           Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spread sheet software and MS project management software.
