A dynamic and innovative Broadcasting / Media company is currently looking for a Digital Innovator.

 

The Digital Innovation role is aimed at raising the bar on the way in which Radio Stations work in the digital environment. The role requires an ongoing immersion in digital trends with a view to identifying possible projects that can be deployed in the environment. The role requires a strong focus on actual experimentation and the deployment of test projects in order to drive learning and accelerate the innovation cycle.

This role coordinates with the development teams, the on-line teams, marketing managers, social network

disciplines, project management, IT (including 3rd party businesses) and station / programme managers to

ensure that the needs of the listener are met on digital platforms

 

Qualifications

1.       Technical

               

·         In depth knowledge and understanding of various digital innovations and how the can be used to raise awareness of the various brands and improve the image of the brands.

·         The ability to adapt to new tools quickly

·         Understanding what innovations are appropriate for the company

·         The ability to ‘interpret’ business requirements into functional requirements to guide external and internal development teams.

 

2.       Organisation

·         The ability to prioritize and manage work flow

·         The ability to mobilize resources fast and achieve small wins whilst working towards bigger projects

KEY OUTPUTS

               

·         Identifying and formulating new and innovative digital projects that align with the client

·         The implementation of new projects that enhance the relationship with the client

·         Consistently bringing ideas into the business in a structured way that allows them to enter the innovation cycle.

·         Overseeing and managing the development of these projects, as well as contributing to the development itself

·         Implementation of projects within agreed budgets and timeframes;

·         Certain instances undertaking preliminary development work to allow for ideas to be tested.

·         Building completed projects into new products for the business             

·         Collaborating with on-line and programme managers to ensure the integration of experimental projects into product for the business.

·         Developing listener intelligence across the various platforms, and interpreting this into usable information to be communicated

·         Development of data-driven listener stories through, amongst others:

·         Working to create a database of user interactions that allows for the identification of the behavior patterns of unique users.

·         Working together with sales and programming management to understand their requirements and generating appropriate user insight, and with 3rd parties to bring this intelligence to fruition.

·         Innovation around the ‘social graph’ of the radio stations’ users;

·         Ongoing exploration of trends in consumer research and analysis.

·         Advancing knowledge of digital across the business by sharing broader industry insight, as well as first-hand learnings

·         Create structured opportunities for the sharing of best practice digital ideas throughout the company.

·         Monitor online trends       

·         Continually monitor the trends online and adapt the necessary tools to suit those trends and ensure the best results and maximum exposure.

Requirements:

 

A dynamic and innovative Broadcasting / Media company is currently looking for a EWN Product Manager who has vast experience.

 

To lead the development and implementation of strategies and technologies for EWN digital properties.

Work at the inter-section of a variety of disciplines these are primarily, but not exclusively, news editorial, user

experience, visual design and developer.

The role requires an understanding of all these areas and the ability to harness competencies to deliver leading

digital experiences for EWN users.

 

Qualifications

 

·         Minimum of 4 years reporting experience in a product management environment with experience in leading the evolution of digital assets in line with improving user experiences and outcomes.

·         Familiarity working with Sitecore will be a distinct advantage

·         Matric,

·         Diploma/Degree product management or relevant work experience,

·          Valid Driver’s license

 

Key Functions

 

 

·         Perform expert evaluations of all EWN digital properties.

·         Implement strategies to address the outcomes of user experience testing with EWN users.

·         Maximise the use of the intelligence capabilities of the CMS.

·         Review user statistics in order to inform user experience.

·         Provide on-going analysis to the EWN editorial team to ensure that editorial content is informed by user insights.

·         Devise, plan and deliver on projects to consistently raise the bar on EWN’s digital products.

·         The ability to inspire and persuade diverse groups of stakeholders ensuring alignment with an agreed upon vision.

·         Be thoroughly familiar with the detail. Know the sites inside out but retain the ability to remain focussed on strategy and the big picture.

·         Initiate crucial conversations that keep stakeholders focussed on strategy
