Key Responsibilities:

 

          Supporting Safety and Quality standards and initiatives

          Supporting Environmental systems and initiatives through the reporting of spillages and incidents

          Adhering to all relevant legislation

          Achieving service levels and customers satisfaction

          Providing excellent Customer Service

          Meeting ad - hoc requests

          Ensuring sound Corporate Governance

          Managing and Reducing Costs

          Calibrating instrumentation as per the schedule ensuring that records up to date

          Ensuring that planned maintenance is done daily as per Shop ware.

          Ensuring reduced downtime on machinery due to maintenance reasons.

          Participating in MDWT

          Ensuring that critical spares are recorded and kept in stock

 

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

 

          Maintenance planning

          Knowledge of machinery and systems

          Knowledge of Organizational values

          Knowledge of Safety Health Environment and Risk Procedures

          MDWT methodology

          Company policies and procedures

          Relevant instrumentation knowledge

 

Personal Attributes:

 

          Energetic, results orientated

          Ability to handle pressure

          Good inter-personal skills

 

Educational Qualifications:

 

          Minimum: Matric with a Trade

          Ideal: N6 with Instrument Trade

 

Experience:

 

          Minimum: 1 Year in a Maintenance Technician position

          Ideal: 3 Years in a Maintenance Technician position

Requirements:

  • The individual needs to have had 5 years management experience at a technical level.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Daily meeting with work instructions

  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance plan

  • Manages stores- spares

  • Manage coal boiler- staff and consumables

  • Manager- effluent plant staff and  consumables

Typical machinery used in the day to day operations are:

  • Pumps- centrifugal, mono and air pumps

  • Electrical pumps

  • Motors

  • Centrifuges

  • Decanters

  • Compressors

  • Valves

  • Steam lines
